Zahala

A neighborhood of villas in northeast Tel Aviv. The neighborhood was founded in 1953 as part of a government plan for members of the regular army. In recent years, because of its geographical location and character, Afeka has become a prestige neighborhood sought after by the upper 1% of the population. It is characterized by lots for single-family homes with areas that range from 400 square meters up to large lots that can reach as much as 2,000 square meters. In the center of the neighborhood, there is a small shopping center that contains a supermarket, a bank, and a post office, as well as an elementary school, youth center, country club, and nursery schools. Some of the more sought-after streets are: Barak, Bat Yiftach, Yoav, Haparsa, and parts of Yonatan.
