Savyon

A rustic community of houses west of Kiryat Ono, about 11 Km East of Tel Aviv, Savion’s namesake, the daisy, was given because it began as a housing project for well-to-do South African immigrants. Savion was established in 1954 by Africa-Israel, as a neighborhood of houses for well-to-do immigrants. The original plan was not initially successful, and savion became a middle-class home for families from central Israel. In 1960, Savion received its current status as a house neighborhood, where luxury houses, homes, and lots were up for sale. In 1978 it was recognized as an independent local municipality. In 2003, it was joined with the nearby village of Ganey Yehuda. According to data from the Central Bureau for Statistics, Savion is the urban community with the highest socio-economic standing in Israel. Savion enjoys excellent environmental development and excellent public services. Lots run between 1250 sm - 10 dunam. The most popular streets are typically the central quiet streets, such as HaKerem HaZeytim, HaRekhes, HaRishonim, HaBrosh, HaOranim, Har Dafna, HaGderot, etc.
